About villa

This functionalist villa was designed in 1938 by architect Richard Podzemný.  The property of this unique villa is situated on the edge of the slope above the village Čisovice. This position allows countryside views. The form of the house follows Le Corbusier; rigid box shape with strip windows is lightened by pilots in opposite corners. The architect placed a sandstone pillar with a female act depicting allegory of music at the end of the terrace. The architecture of this villa has therefore two apparently different, but also interdependent layers – emotional and intimate mostly personified by the statue, and on the other hand rational and purist position that is reflected by the actual architecture of the house. The villa is enlisted in the book “Famous Villas in the Central Czech Region”.
